The “Kiss of Death” Prediction Fulfilled

In my first post this month when I said I’d attempt to write a blog post every day, I also said every time I make a resolution like this, something happens to derail my plans; in other words, stating my resolution is the “kiss of death” to achieving it.

This time it was the flu and an ear infection. I’ve written through a lot of things in the past. For certain years I did NaNoWriMo, I had a root canal, lingering upper respiratory infection, and pneumonia (different years, not all at once). This time it was too much for me. A couple days of high fever, body pain, and fatigue kept me off the computer for a full two days, and then I couldn’t stand to be at my desk for very long. At this point I don’t know if continuing problems are just the remnants of influenza and infection or they’re side effects of Tamiflu and amoxicillin. I never seem to feel well on antibiotics.

Now Mom has her own version; Diamondqueen and the Hooligans had theirs last week. So we all pretty much lost this week of the holiday season. Kind of how things are going generally in this part of the country, too. For my family, fingers crossed we’ll all feel better for Christmas itself.
