Darkness in the Season of Light

Like everyone else, I struggled all day Friday to come to terms with the tragedy in Newtown, Connecticut. There is no coming to terms with it. To think of those babies dying at the hands of that monster is too horrifying to contemplate; but I can’t stop contemplating it.

On a day of such searing sorrow, the only song about “peace on earth” I can tolerate is U2’s. “Hear it every Christmastime, but hope and history won’t rhyme…”

Thinking of the victims and their families…
